I’m a freelance writer and tutor based in the north east of England, passionate about the benefits of writing and reading for all.

I write short stories, poetry and non-fiction and have been published in print and online. You can find out more about my writing here.

I’ve worked as a creative writing tutor and facilitator since 2015, both independently and on behalf of organisations such as the Workers’ Educational Association, New Writing North, the Lit and Phil, The Biscuit Factory Gallery, Hexham Book Festival and Jesmond Community Library, where I was recently writer in residence. I love helping people tell stories, particularly if they lack confidence or think they can’t write. You can read more about my current creative writing courses and workshops here and about my work in schools and with young people here.

I’ve also mentored adults and young people so they can make progress with their writing and judged writing competitions. You can find information on my critique and mentoring services here.
