Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest: Humorous poetry (maximum 250 lines). Free to enter. Deadline: 1 April 2020. More details here.

The Third Word Press Great Eighty Challenge: Stories of exactly 80 words. Free to enter. No deadline. More details here.

Ceramic Review Competition: Write a 300-word review of an art exhibition of your choice that you’ve seen in the last four months that has inspired you. Free to enter. Deadline: 30 April 2020. More details here.

Scottish Book Trust 50-word Story Competition: Stories about washing up of under 50 words. Deadline: 31 March 2020. More details here.

Capsule Stories Summer 2020 Edition: Stories, poems and essays (stories and essays should be under 3000 words) on the theme of going forward, especially those that are set in or reference summer. Deadline: 20 April 2020. More details here.

Stonecrop Review Issue 4 – Fauna: Creative non-fiction and fiction (500-5000 words) about wild animal life in the city. Submit between 1 May-31 July 2020. More details here.

Claw and Blossom Issue 5: Poems (preferably free verse) and stories of up to 1000 words on the theme of flame. All writing submitted should contain elements of the natural world. More details here.

Stepaway Magazine: Stories (under 1000) or poems about walking in the city. No deadline. More details here.
